Defending champion Denis Shapovalov secured his place in the Los Cabos Open final on Saturday morning, defeating British No 2 Cameron Norrie in a hard-fought three-set encounter. The match, which lasted two hours and 40 minutes, ended with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 scoreline in favor of the Canadian.
Norrie, who had shown signs of a return to form earlier in the tournament, struggled early as he was broken in his opening service game. While he managed to force a decider by clinching the second set—capitalizing on set points during a tense 6-5 game—Shapovalov’s serving consistency proved the deciding factor in the final set.

For Norrie, the defeat marks a continuation of a difficult stretch in his 2026 season. Despite a dominant quarter-final performance against Bernard Tomic, he was unable to overcome the reigning champion in the semi-finals.
Denis Shapovalov will now face Frenchman Arthur Gea in the final. Gea earned his spot in the championship match after a 7-6(7), 6-3 victory over Coleman Wong. Wong, despite the loss, is projected to enter the ATP Top 100 rankings for the first time this coming Monday.
